Join us for our Home is Where the Heart is: Valentine’s Fundraiser to benefit ForKids and Moms on a Mission. The event will take place at New Heights Fellowship located at 1251 Kempsville Rd, Norfolk, Virginia 23502, from 10am – 3pm.
ForKids is the largest service provider for homeless families in Virginia. Through there programs for housing, education and clinical services, they are working to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty for families & children.
Moms on a Mission is a group started by Desiree Latu to assist families in their transition from shelter life to their own home. Together with other moms and close friends, Desiree has been able to provide Welcome Home Baskets full of necessities to help these families make their new place feel like a home.
Both of these amazing organizations need the help of people like you and me to keep doing what they do! We are hosting a vendor event to benefit both of them!
Our Valentine’s themed event will have everything you need for a perfect gift for your Valentine or someone special. Create the perfect date night or have a romantic night in! We will have all of the components for you!
As always, we encourage visitors to donate $5.00 or items from the basic necessities list to be provided closer to the event.
UPDATE: We had an amazing event that raised $238 for the food bank and over 150 pounds of food donations. Thanks to those vendors and visitors for helping our community and making a difference in the lives of others.
Since 1981, the Food bank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore has been providing food for hungry people throughout Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore. Their vision is a simple one: A hunger-free community!
A large part of health and wellness is what we put into our bodies on a daily basis. There are people in our community who do not have options, they often rely on soup kitchens and food pantries for their next meal. But where does this food come from? Let’s do our part and give back to our community. Please bring a food or cash donation to benefit the Food bank.
The event will take place at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic School at 5343 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 from 10a – 4p. Our event space is located in the Library and Technology Center (Click Here for Google Map).
